Vicki worked with me along with her coworker and supervisors to get the patient the dressing supplies that he needed and gathered them together for me to pick up.
Vicki was the charge nurse when a patient was discharged home on hospice. Upon arrival to the home to admit him, I, the hospice nurse, noted that the patient's abdominal wound was draining copious amounts of fluid and would need a more advanced dressing than the dressing supplies I had available to me. After speaking with the physician on call to decide the dressing required, Vicki worked with me along with her coworker and supervisors to get the patient the dressing supplies that he needed and gathered them together for me to pick up. Had she not done this, the patient would have had to wait multiple days for the correct dressing supplies to arrive. This made a huge difference to the patient and his family, and I am so grateful for her help in this matter.
