Vickie has been a part of our life since we brought our son, P, home. She has been a constant source of encouragement for us on top of her excellent nursing skills. Lately we have been in and out of the hospital more because of our son's chronic illness. Because of that, P has needed to have his port accessed quite often which can be quite difficult because of how it is placed. Vickie has come to the floor and the ED to help us get him accessed with a smile on her face and lots of encouraging words. I know that Vickie not only cares about P but about our whole family too. She is an excellent example of what a nurse should be and an even greater ambassador for the Children's of Alabama.
