August 2012 Honoree
virginia inocencio, RN
Oh yes, Virgie is a very special lady, nurse and leader. When I met her for the first time, I had surgery over a week ago and something went wrong and I ended up back in here. I had been here about two weeks. I was moved about four times at the time. I was told I had to be moved again. I was in pain and one of the nurses told Virgie. I had tears down my cheek, even though I tried to hide it. Virgie showed me so much love and compassion. She didn’t move me that night but the next days she surprised me with a room with a window view next to my bed so I can see the trees, mountains and sky, also the bathroom was close to me. I was very ill. She comforted me each time and made me think of my pain less. She’s very caring, told me if I need anything to let her know. I think Virgie is extraordinary person and nurse and she deserves the DAISY Award.
Thank you, Virginia, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
