We (the dialysis team) want to recognize Vlad Vukanovic, RN! He is such a pleasure to work with and goes above and beyond when needed. Vlad’s communication with our team is always impeccable, even if it means he walks down to our unit for more efficient and effective communication. Vlad cares for his patients on a level I wish I saw in all nurses. He knows his patients well, not just the surface things, but truly knows his patients making it easy for others to care for these patients too.

Today was a particularly trying day for him, with at least one patient who made life as difficult as possible. He was graceful in his communication with the patient, he was patient with them, and never let rightful frustration show! His presence in the care of this patient made what could have been a very messy and convoluted situation into one of controlled chaos.

Vlad truly embodies the IU Health way and his commitment to team, compassion, purpose, and excellence is clear to all who cross paths with him!
