Wanda's professionalism, compassion and unwavering support are commendable in every way. She consistently takes the extra step to make improvements within the surgery department to improve patient care.
Several months ago, she was the key person to research and plan for a future Outpatient Surgery Unit. This task took hours and hours of planning. Her efforts enabled the hospital to submit a respectable business plan for the future of our hospital. Having this new unit will open beds for more patients at Shriners. Also, recently, she developed a new communication tool to complement our process of improvement for notifying parents on how their child is doing in surgery. In addition to the care of patients at Shriners, she volunteers yearly on mission trips (self-funded) to work in operating rooms in Guatemala with Faith and Practice.
There is so much to say about the wonderful patient care that Wanda provides. She makes the nursing profession proud. The touch that she leaves on our patients is nursing care at its finest.
