Waraphron worked very hard to communicate in English so I knew what was going on. If I needed help, she found a hospital staff member to help me. When we requested to have R's glasses replaced, she escorted us and translated for us at the Optometry floor. He was very sleepy and immobile. But she helped the optical people so we were successful. She is very determined.
There were times when I needed to leave the room so they could perform medical procedures and she made sure I had somewhere to sit until I could come back in. She is very kind and was very patient with R throughout his time in ICU. From what I observed, she worked well with follow nurses and staff on the floor.
R was not her only patient, but she never looked rushed or in a hurry. The sweetest moment was when she recognized R's birthday (he turned 23 while in ICU) by purchasing a birthday basket with fruit + flowers + a ribbon saying " HAPPY BIRTHDAY". She and the other nurses on the floor helped make a sad day happy.
