She talked me through it and got me calmed down to where I felt safe and I didn't need any medication to stop the panic part of my anxiety disorder. That's when I knew I mattered to her!
I'd truly like to say Thank You several times over and also express my appreciation for Nurse Wendy who took exceptional care of me during my stay in the Observation unit on the second floor.

I had been admitted to the hospital in the Observation unit for 5 days before being sent home just to return again for another 3 day stay. I had been to the ER department 3 times in 2 weeks and seen many nurses during the visits and every nurse I had was very caring and compassionate. One nurse that stands out from all of them is Nurse Wendy.

She first came into my room with a very warm and welcoming smile as she introduced herself and filled out the patient board on the wall explaining to me all of what she was writing. At the time I was not only in pain and extremely ill and vomiting, but I was having a difficult time with anxiety and fear of again being re-admitted.

Nurse Wendy comforted me and reassured me that everything was going to be just fine. She talked me through it and got me calmed down to where I felt safe and I didn't need any medication to stop the panic part of my anxiety disorder. That's when I knew I mattered to her!

When she was in my room she made sure to explain to me step by step as to what she was doing, whether it was just dispersing meds, taking my vitals, or doing an overall exam on me. She was on top of everything and not just with me, I noticed she gave the same compassion and care to each of her patients. Genesys is most definitely lucky to have her as an employee.
