We had a patient on our unit who has been with us for over two months. This nurse has taken care of this patient many times and has developed a special bond with her. The patient was particularly sad and not in good spirits during her last week with us and told this nurse she was tired of our TV channels. The nurse came in on their day off, brought a laptop and gel manicure kit, and sat with the patient, watching Netflix shows to try and lift her spirits. The nurse went above and beyond and somehow got the patient to smile.
