I was hospitalized twice this past spring, once in from March and again in April. I met Yipin during my first stay.
Yipin goes beyond being a good nurse! She is quite perceptive and finds ways to give extra attention to her patients. Her thoughtfulness certainly made me feel like more than a sick body in bed.
When I met Yipin, she impressed me so with a ready smile and gentle ways. I found she was raised by her grandmother in Shanghai. As she worked with me, Yipin showed me some simple Chinese massage techniques. These hand movements applied to your face ease tension, energize and help with a headache, what a skill to pass on!
To give you an example of the excellent care Yipin gave me, let me give you a few incidents. One afternoon, she noticed that my lips were chapped and brought me some Vaseline. When my hands were rough and sore, she provided lotion.
Lastly, on a day when I was bored, she brought me a book to read. How can you forget such kindness?
She is a true DAISY Nurse.
