Yolanda's co-workers have this to say about her:
Yolanda is one of the most caring and hard-working nurses I know.
She cares not only for the patients but also for the staff. She is always willing to help out if needed.
Yolanda exemplifies all five values of R.I.S.E.S. She treats her patients with the utmost respect, love, and compassion.
She lives WAH's mission, every day.
I am only able to discharge a large number of patients from the unit because of Yolanda's support and her constant instruction to the nurses that they give me the needed information.
Yolanda is a great leader. She means business for the benefit of her patients.
As a charge nurse, she exhibits great customer service and intervenes in crisis situations promptly.
Yolanda was very helpful in getting information for pre-op reports. She showed support for her co-workers. I appreciate her.
From Yolanda's boss:
Yolanda exemplifies all of the R.I.S.E.S values and embodies the mission of Adventist Healthcare. She goes the extra mile for patients and includes the families in the patient's care. Yolanda oftentimes reaches out to meet their spiritual needs as well as their nursing needs. She leads by example and holds the 2200 staff accountable for delivering the care expected of them.
Yolanda partners with the ancillary departments to meet specific needs and works hard to recover patients with complaints. In addition to her excellent clinical skills, she serves as a great mentor for the nursing staff. She is a strong resource for all of our staff and they all know that they can count on her to help them out if needed.
Yolanda comes early and stays late and oftentimes comes in on a scheduled day off to ensure patient safety. Yolanda has been instrumental in helping to decrease the rate of falls on unit 2200 in 2017 and played a strong teaching role in the successful pilot of multidisciplinary rounding project on the unit.
From Yolanda's patients:
"Her kindness and professional manner is 5-star service!"
"I am an 8-year-old and Yolanda made my aunt feel welcome."
"Yolanda and her team treated me the best. Yolanda was pleasant, informative, kind, and caring."
"May God bless Yolanda. Such a calm and sweet spirit."
"Yolanda answered all of my questions in great detail and believe me, I had a lot of them! Even told me that if I had any more questions, I could have them find her and she would come back and answer more."
