... I feel that working with Yumi is a privilege and she brings honor to the nursing profession. Each day she comes to work smiling, cheerful, always with a positive attitude and offering to help every patient, visitor, and coworker in any way that she can. Being a nurse continues to be a more challenging career with each new year with all the education, responsibility requirement and patient and visitor demands.

I have witnessed Yumi sharing her experience and knowledge with other nurses and staff from additional departments and disciplines, Yumi is always respectful and encouraging. She is involved in being a strong patient advocate, involving other departments as she feels benefits her patients most.

Yumi has a special quality that allows her to work well with patients, families and visitors that have been witnessed as being extremely rude, impatient, and needing further education. She speaks in soft tones, clearly expressing what she is trying to convey in a manner that is simplistic while still listening and calming the person that she is engaging as she forms a trust between them.

Yumi is one of our finest examples of what a nurse should be and who Holy Cross Hospital needs to exemplify our mission, vision, and values.
