Yusufu treated both my father and my family with the utmost kindness and respect.

Yusufu was my father’s nurse during his stay as we made the decision to end his cancer treatment and enter hospice care. My father was in the hospital for about a week and Yusufu was his nurse during the night shift, this was the time when his pain typically got worse. Yusuf was quick to respond and always was patient and kind with my father. He treated both my father and my family with the utmost kindness and respect.

One of the things that I admired the most was how he still treated my father like a human being, even as he was going through his final days. He talked to him, asked him questions, and talked to him about his life. It was amazing to see my dad respond to him— even if it was with a smile. When my mom, brother, and I were all spending the nights by my dad’s bedside as we were waiting to transfer him home he made sure that we were taken care of as well. Although my dad was his patient, he made us a priority. We will never forget his kindness and empathy. He is truly such a blessing and I am forever grateful that my father was placed in his care
