After some effort, the patient slowly started responding to her, and after about an hour, she was strolling behind him like a mother accompanying her young kid.
A patient with Down syndrome was admitted to the ward of the surgical department. The facility's processes at the time mandated a routine COVID-19 test for any patient entering the OR, and when the test was done, the result was Positive.

The patient was uncontrollable in his movements, and no member of the staff could catch him. As a result, he was wandering through the department's hallways and sitting in the nursing station without a mask, fiddling with the computer. His companion, who was also his father, was unable to control the patient \and he became very depressed, so we sent him outside to take over the task. The patient then went into other patients' rooms. Due to the patient's refusal to let anyone capture him, the social worker was contacted and the white code was set in motion. Even with the white code, he was impossible to control.

He was being pursued by Zainab from one location to the next till he reached the opposite section. He receives her intimate, friendly conversation. After some effort, the patient slowly started responding to her, and after about an hour, she was strolling behind him like a mother accompanying her young kid. He was captured by her, and she got him to come back. After her colleague bought some toys, Zainab softly brought the patient into the room. She bought him toys and used them to control him in the same way a mother would. He was drawn on by her till he calmed down after she handed him a blackboard.

In order for her to finish her tasks, we started to duplicate what she did. However, he rejected all of us and would only use her name. Nothing could soothe him down except for her presence and our caresses. The problem before us only took on a very sophisticated and personal significance relating to the nursing profession thanks to her lyrical manner and her voice full of motherhood. She exemplified nursing in its truest meaning since she offered without getting bored or exhausted and just focused on the patient's needs while taking safety precautions.
