We were blessed to have Pawan as our dad's nurse. We want to give special thanks to her as she certainly went above and beyond her calling. Pawan was with our dad the majority of days during his last admission and followed us through our journey.
Pawan truly was concerned as his health dramatically declined each day. She never gave up on him and provided the most professional and personal care we have ever seen. Pawan continually assessed his situation and communicated constantly with his doctors. She made him feel comfortable; she made sure his hair looked nice and explained to us all about the daily happenings. She always reinforced to us that he wasn't in pain. She took the time to encourage him to eat and asked him to follow the doctor's orders as he was having difficulty accepting his condition. She never hurried and always took the time to answer the questions we had as well.
As our dad's decline was rapid, and not expected, she also took the time to comfort us. Ultimately, we received the difficult news that his health was declining so rapidly that the original plan of rehab upon discharge was no longer a viable option.
We mentioned to her that she was born to be a nurse. She just smiled and said she loved her job. That love showed through every minute she was with us. We had a tearful goodbye the day before he was moved to the Hospice House.
Pawan has made an everlasting impression in our lives. Thank you, Pawan, for the care and dedication you show to your patients and their families.
