Michelle took care of my mother for many days over a three-week period when she was medevacked here from Alaska due to surgery complications. It turned out that my mom was dealing with a very complicated GI situation that would take many months to recover. My father subsequently was admitted for blood clots and infection and for a few days; Michelle was also his nurse. For the weeks that mom was at Swedish, we saw many nurses and they were all great.
However, Michelle was at a different level - she was empathetic, compassionate, and offered a higher level of care. It was very stressful and overwhelming for me to have both parents seriously ill at the same time, but she was so supportive of me and them. She was an advocate for my parents and went out of her way to make sure both of them were on the same floor. Additionally, she made sure others on the wing were aware of the situation, so care was better coordinated. Mom is now 2 months post-surgery and is doing excellent. My family and I are so thankful for the great care that Swedish, and in particular, what Michelle provided.
