Sue immediately made a connection with the nurses at her client site when she joined them mid-2016. She quickly engaged with the nursing leadership and interacts with all staff. We recently completed a Strategic Nursing Meeting that was a homerun with nursing leadership. As a result, the client will be adding several Cerner innovations.
Sue is extremely passionate about Cerner Nursing solutions and what they have to offer a client. She articulates very well what solutions are needed for the client to be successful and meet their organizational goals. I highly recommend Sue for the DAISY Award.
*****
Sue has recently joined a client site where I am the Reference Manager. She has hit it off with the new Vice President of Nursing and already has all nurses engaged in a well overdue nursing assessment. Sue has created urgency around the need for optimization in nursing and is quickly gaining the respect of all.
*****
Sue exemplifies what it means to truly partner with our clients. She brings vision, collaboration, and an extensive background of successes to her work that instill confidence immediately with those she works with not only at client sites but inside Cerner as well.
*****
Sue is in high demand across many regions, but she always finds time to follow and make each person feel like they are the most important thing at any given moment. She looks for the positive in everything she does. She is extremely professional, collaborative, and insightful when talking about improvement opportunities as it pertains to nursing workflows and patient care.
I've had the good fortune to observe Sue at several clients conducting walk-throughs and executive briefings. She can navigate a room of 20 frustrated and tired nurses and make them feel like their commitment to nursing will change the world and our tools will help them to do so as well. She instills hope and appreciation in a world of long days and staff shortages.
Sue is equally as talented when working within the C-suite. Most recently, I observed her working with a COO/CNO who has significant staffing budget challenges. Though nothing is a simple solution, the meeting concluded with the COO/CNO having increased confidence that she had a path to several process improvements that could streamline some of their nursing workflows and improve the quality of care. Sue's credibility was clearly validated and I think she made a friend for life that day.
In summary, Sue's knowledge, compassion, and ability to create trust and respect is what makes her a DAISY Nurse!
