After a rough year of losing my doctor and several other big changes at the VA, I was feeling alone and scared. I felt like I wasn't being proactive with my health which was making me depressed. I then met Taryn, who was going to be my new nurse. She listened to me and heard my concerns and fears. When it came time for a blood draw, Taryn went with me and helped me to conquer a huge fear. When I got scared and needed to ask a million questions, Taryn was patient and answered my questions in a way I could understand.
When I met my new doctor and was scared, Taryn was there assuring me everything would be ok. When I had a mini procedure, Taryn was there talking me through everything all the while she assisted my new doctor. I was able to be as calm as I could have possibly been knowing I was in good hands. It's amazing what a difference it has made having such a kind and compassionate nurse at the VA. Taryn has completely changed my feelings about health care in general. I feel honored and blessed to be one of her patients. I feel brave and proactive about my health care because of Taryn. Taryn is a true DAISY Nurse.
