Dan made me feel better every time he came into the room. I was hospitalized after a total thyroidectomy and after very low calcium levels had to stay about a week. When Dan first introduced himself, he showed great concern and helped me in getting aromatherapy instead of regular pain pills because I personally wanted to do without. He helped me fix my bed so I could get comfortable for the first time since I started my stay. He came in frequently to check on me, but not too much to where I was not able to rest. He came in a few times, just to chat as well. This let me know that I was not just a patient that he had to care for, but I was a person as well. My husband stayed with me during my stay and Dan made sure his needs were met too. He kept me informed on what I needed to stick around for so I could spend my time walking around the hospital or in the Healing Garden.
Dan, while I was there, was put in charge of two student nurses which I also got to see his talent to train future nurses, which would be the best thing for this hospital to have more generally concerned and caring individuals like Dan.
So thank you Dan, for everything you did to make me well again.
