I went into labor on New Year's Eve. As this was my first pregnancy, you could imagine I was anxiously awaiting the birth of my baby. I went through the registration process with my fiancé and was quickly brought into the delivery room. That is where I met Jasmin. This nurse set me at such ease and especially when I was frightened to get an epidural. Jasmin was right there to not only comfort me but give me a shoulder to cry on when my fiancé was asked to leave the room. I was more afraid to get an epidural than to actually give birth and Jasmin assured me all would be ok, that I was making the right decision and that she would be there with me every step of the way. I have never felt so vulnerable, frightened yet excited in my entire life and Jasmin truly helped make the vulnerability and fear subside. Although it might be all in a day's work in the medical profession, for a first time mom, I was comforted knowing that I was in good hands. In addition, she was beyond attentive in making sure I was as comfortable as possible, and always had ice-chips. It might sound silly and simple, but to me, it meant the world. Her outstanding bedside manner deserves to be acknowledged. And I am forever grateful that she was assigned to my bed on the day I gave birth to my son.
Thank you to this nurse again for everything she does and continues to do!
