My husband had an atrial fibrillation procedure. Because we were at the Baylor Scott and White Hospital in CS from 6:30 am until 3:30 pm, I spent my day in the 2nd-floor waiting room. Amber greeted us as we checked in and prepared my husband for his procedure. She appeared cheerfully concerned that my husband's pulse rate was very low and communicated her concern to the Doctor in a very professional manner.
Amber continued to show her thoughtfulness and compassion by readily answering our many questions. As the procedure continued throughout the morning, she often smiled as she passed by, once inquiring if the Doctor had come by, which he had. Later she reappeared to ask if I had been updated, I answered "no". She immediately called for an update that was then relayed to me, telling me again that sometimes these procedures took all day and I could get a lunch downstairs. The following month we returned again to the cath lab for a "shock" procedure with the same doctor, and much to my surprise Amber recognized me. She was kind and cheerful as we chatted for a quick minute - again communicating her compassion and care for patients and their visitors.
