I'm a young mom and have been hospitalized for about 5 days with daily pain from my lymphoma. I've been absolutely miserable since I'm here alone and my kids (3-year-old daughter and 7-month-old son) are at home with my husband and can't come to see me. This is my first time being away from my son, so this has been especially hard for me and I've been overly emotional because of it. Tylisha comforted me and spent time with me to make sure I was going to be ok. She looked at me like a person, not just another patient. She has gone above and beyond for me and I feel like this isn't even enough recognition for her. She made me laugh when all I wanted to do was cry. Gave me the reassurance I needed and talked to me mom-to-mom. I can go on and on about her but she's truly been a blessing to me and my family. The ray of sunshine all hospitals need. She even spent her "free time" researching my disease and different treatment options and discussing all avenues with me so I could better understand what's going on with me. The perfect advocate, nurse, and friend. She gave me the hope that I was lacking.
