Terri exemplifies the characteristics of a “DAISY Nurse” on a daily basis over and over again. Time and time again, patients have informed me how much Terri goes beyond the “call of duty” and care for them individually.

For example, I recently saw a young pregnant mother who was faced with learning that her fetus had a congenital cardiac defect. Terri quickly worked to ensure that the patient was seen by a pediatric cardiologist the next day! In addition, she followed up with the patient to see how she was feeling after confirmation of the heart defect. Further, the patient’s amniocentesis results confirmed a suspected chromosomal problem and Terri was quick to notify the patient, inform the referring physician, and coordinate the patient’s care without delay.

I would be unable to perform my duties as a physician without her support. She has a heart of gold and is a pleasure to work with. She truly listens with her heart. Terri is a gift to her patients and to our department.
