Estellita is a phenomenal nurse and a pleasure to work with. Recently, I received a late afternoon allergy consult for a Veteran in a spinal cord unit who needed specialty skin testing for an urgently-needed antibiotic. It was after hours in the evening, and Este was already at home, but she called ahead to the nurses and pharmacist and had everything in order for me by the time I arrived at the hospital. We skin tested the patient and he received his needed antibiotic. Este was so helpful, so proactive, and really went above and beyond. It would have been easy for her to say "I'm already home, I don't know the patient, it's not my problem" etc. etc., but Este truly has a heart for patient care for our nation's Veterans. I am certain that her efforts that day led to a better patient outcome and the patient and his family were pleased with his care. Este really embodies integrity, commitment, advocacy, respect, and excellence. Thank you, Este!

She advocates for the patients always and makes sure that they are getting the care they need. She is an essential part of our clinic. She is always seeking out new information and will participate in journal club when she can. She goes over and beyond the call of duty for all she works with.
