Anna Kalafut has been the nurse educator for Perianthesia Services for the past year. During that time, she has clearly demonstrated her passion for teaching, care for patients, as well as for staff. Anna is always present in the department and lights up a room. In times of crisis, she rolls up her sleeves and assists without hesitation; she has helped to transport patients and provide direct patient care. She routinely assesses the department for areas where additional education is needed. She is a mentor and role model for staff, and possesses a wealth of knowledge that she readily shares with others. Her infectious smile and charming personality makes her easily approachable and well-liked by all.

Anna Kalafut always completes requested projects far beyond expectations. She supports staff in evidence-based practice and research, and is an advisor for Perianesthesia Services’ research fellow. UPMC St. Margaret is proud to have such a special educator; a nurse who truly loves her job and works hard every day to make a difference in the lives of all she comes in contact with.
