I was admitted twice within a 30 day period for pneumonia. Jenni was my night nurse on most occasions and went so far above and beyond that she left a lasting impression. She is compassionate and does not believe any job is below her. Being a cancer patient means I have a lot of problems. I know most people consider them to be minor, but to me they mean a lot. She checked on me and made sure I was always comfortable. Even when she was not my nurse, she still checked in to see how I was. She is the main reason I would recommend Mercy Hospital to everyone I know!

Jenni always goes beyond the call of duty for her patients, but this week she truly lived up to Mercy's Caring Model. For one of her patients that had an extended stay on the unit, Jenni made her birthday extra special. Jenni decorated the patient's room while the patient was gone and brought her in birthday treats. Later that same week a patient had been confused, anxious, and asking for watermelon on several different occasions. Jenni spent her own time and money to make her patient happy. When the patient saw the watermelon she stated, "Now that is all I have been wanting." The gift brought joy and comfort to the her patient. Working with Jenni is an honor!
