These three RNs have been incredible during their care of my friend. Every step of care, they have kept me and my friend's husband informed. They have promptly met needs and made adjustments. They've listened attentively, provided excellent nursing care and explanations of what they were doing and why all while helping my friend maintain her dignity and respect.
Amber has been so helpful and managed my friend's pain without judgment. She even made me feel right at home while staying the weekend and included me in my friend's plan of care. She brought me linens and even shampoo and conditioner from home, so I could shower.
Mayra was also very sweet and down-to-earth, and she balanced decisions by taking patient preferences into account.
All the nurses performed assessments respectfully and were able to answer questions or find answers very quickly, succinctly, and had an impeccable bedside manner.
Kathy was on top of anything requested and really helped get my friend moving towards discharge.
They all met my friend's needs in various ways, promptly and with such great attitudes. I always felt welcome too and was not made to feel like I was stepping on toes when making suggestions. I am a nurse also, and these three women all fall into the awesome category!
They were also very compliant with HIPPA and did not openly discuss my friend or other patients to us. I know that treating patients and managing symptoms (especially in cases where pain levels are high, there are family issues, there are end-of-life aspects, and patients are not themselves emotionally or cognitively) is a very difficult thing to do without becoming jaded, complacent or burnt out.
These nurses were the perfect example of the kind caregivers I would want my own family to have. They were smart, empathetic, and incredibly helpful every step of the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my friend. I can fly home knowing she is in good hands.
