Grifford Jenkins goes consistently above and beyond his regular job expectations. Griff routinely spends time with his patients in order to keep them informed through the hospital process, even if this means taking time out of his personal schedule to help patients and their families during times of high stress. Griff is always a team player, willing to help wherever he is needed.
One day, a patient was visiting Branson and suffered a stroke. Due to her critical condition, she was transferred to Cox South. Because of her condition, her husband was allowed to ride in the ambulance. While staying with his ill wife, the husband was without his medications for his chronic medical problems. The husband was at risk for having serious side effects, but due to his dementia was unable to drive from Springfield to Branson to obtain his medications. Griff went above and beyond to assist the family member in his time of need. Griff went to the hotel in Branson, got the medications for him, and drove them back to the hospital to allow the husband to stay at the bedside with his wife. This act of selflessness brought comfort to a family during a dire time in their lives. Griff checked on the patient and her husband frequently until additional family from out of state could arrive to help with the husband's care. Griff did all of this without being asked and completed each step with a smile on his face.
While this is just an example of the amazing things Griff does daily for his patients and their family members, we could not be more proud to work with such an astounding co-worker. Griff exemplifies CoxHealth's values and consistently provides the best care for those who need him.
