We were at Cal Rehab for 3 weeks, added to a hospital stay of 4 months. After spending the majority of this year in the hospital it was nurses like Al who made the journey bearable. Al was such a kind and gentle spirit treating my husband with tenderness and a smile. He always took the time to brighten our day in one way or another. Any request we made was attended to quickly with a very friendly response. We never felt as if we were a burden when Al was our nurse. Medical issues such as wound care were treated with dignity and respect. Al made a difficult time so much more bearable. We so appreciate his skill and caring he showed us. It was such a pleasure having him care for us. He took the extra time to be sure we were receiving care from all the disciplines of care. Being a nurse myself I recognize those who go above the normal and Al is one of those. He deserves to be recognized for his outstanding care, compassion, and kindness, and skill as a nurse. Thank you Al for all you did to make our days brighter!!!
