Jenny was the first nurse to take care of my mom when she came out of the OR after her open heart surgery. She was so attentive and diligent in assuring that my mom wasn't in pain and constantly reassured her saying, "the surgery is done now and you are in the ICU, we are keeping you safe". This is important because it is one of the only things my mom remembers in the 24 hours after surgery until the breathing tube was removed. She also recognized how emotionally difficult it was for my stepfather to see my mom after surgery. In between titrating my mom's medications, she took the time to talk to my stepdad and reassure him that Mom was doing well and that she wasn't in pain. Jenny also took care of my mom the next day and was so kind and encouraging. She supported her activity in "small steps" but those all led to huge accomplishments after such a big surgery. I appreciate not only the high level of competence and skill that Jenny possesses in providing care to my family but the pure kindness and compassion that she showed all of us during this very stressful time.
