Debbie was with us from the moment we arrived at the hospital. D ended up pushing for 4 hours without any kind of pain medication. Debbie did a great job of recommending different strategies. The most valuable thing Debbie did was bring an unwavering energy and enthusiasm to her coaching. Debbie was by D's side from 7 am - 1 pm without a break (other nurses offered to relieve her) and the consistent advice and support really helped during this challenging process. Debbie cheered on at every contraction and helped me understand the coaching I should provide as a support person. Debbie has probably delivered hundreds of babies in her long career, but we still felt like her #1 priority. We were so lucky to have her help and we will remember her for the rest of our lives.
