A patient on 4 Main passed away today. While he was still with us, Jasmine provided outstanding care for him and his mom. Jasmine, worked closely with the patient to understand his illness and with the mom to educate her on ostomy care, never assuming the patient would pass-but always instilling hope he would fight this!
When his prognosis seemed grimmer, Jasmine would stop by on her days off to talk and check on them. She was there during the most difficult time, supporting the mom and allowing her to vent about her son dying of cancer. She supported her going through what a mother should never have to go through and has emotionally connected with this family and mother.
The mom was most impacted by an angel pin that Jasmine had bought for the patient. She pinned it to his gown and his mother feels that gave him peace and he will be buried with it.
