On Wednesday, May 8th, 2013 Hahnemann University Hospital announced its DAISY Nurse of the Year recipient at the annual Clinical Service Excellence Awards event. The honor went to Elizabeth Blaszczak, BSN, RN who works on the Labor & Delivery unit. Elizabeth was nominated for the DAISY award by many of her nursing peers from the Mother-Infant unit, Labor & Delivery unit, and Neonatal ICU.

Elizabeth was recognized for being counted on to lend a hand or to respond with expert advice. She continues to be an example for other nurses to follow in our journey as a Magnet designated hospital. Elizabeth provides incredible care and compassion to all of our patients and their families. She is fearless when it comes to meeting the patients every need. Elizabeth Blaszczak is a shining example of why many of us choose nursing as our profession.
