Our family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the kindness and excellent care our loved one received during his recent hospitalization. Although, we sadly had to say goodbye to him, the sensitivity and support he and the family received during such a difficult time was such a blessing. Joy was frequently assigned to our loved one during his illness. There was something extra special about Joy and the loving, tender care she gave to all of us. She certainly went beyond any expectations we could have had. Joy exemplifies nursing.
***
Joy is the first to step up to volunteer on any committee, rotate to off shifts, lead the practice council and her team. I have the utmost confidence in her ability to handle any situation that comes her way. She has been instrumental in assisting the stroke committee to improve our ED stroke alert process and has been the champion for the implementation. Having Joy champion this process has allowed us to make a dramatic improvement in the door to needle time, which leads to better patient outcomes. She is currently working with the team to improve the in-patient process.
Joy is well respected by her peers and physicians for her knowledge and skills, critical thinking, and calm demeanor. Her patients and families absolutely love her, sing her praise, and ask about her when she is not there. She goes above and beyond, ensuring that she provides exceptional care to everyone as if they were her family.
