Jodi primarily commits her perioperative nursing skills to patients undergoing cardiac surgery and is one of the core team members on the Heart team. This group is highly engaged and their lives are rigorous, taking a lot of calls, while remaining committed to safety, quality, and outstanding customer service to their patients and surgeon colleagues. Jodi isadmired by coworkers as having a positive attitude when she is asked towork in the Main OR doing general surgical cases, too. She maintains proficiency in most specialties.
Jodi is here to serve, no matter who, where, or when the need arises. She voluntarily prepares the staffing schedule and goes above and beyond to meet the needs of her coworkers. She is methodical in making assignments, but balances the Heart team's personal work-life balance and safe staffing levels to support patient safety.
Jodi also serves as the Unit Based Council (UBC) Chair. This has been a group that Jodi has led through its infancy, to where it has become. It took Jodi's steady and never-ending faith in the team coming up with the solutions to improve both patient care and the work environment in the OR. She has never given up, even when told by some that "this will never work". Jodi is an inspiration and, what was observed by her manager, is that she mentored a rather new OR RN to become her co-chair. She welcomes both Surgical and Anesthesia Techs to join the group to make this a more encompassing UBC.
Jodi is inspiring to watch. She epitomizes the professional RN model and would be an asset to any operating room team in this country, but we are blessed to have her at CHI Franciscan Health, St. Joseph Medical Center! She believes in our mission and lives this in her day-to-day routine. She's complimented by her peers as never having said a mean-spirited word about another soul. How many of us can truly say that about ourselves?
Jodi'spositive attitude is infectious and she makes CHI Franciscan Healtha better place to heal and to work in our Pacific Northwest Region!
