Ann was nominated for comforting an out-of-town patient when she had to unexpectedly deliver her baby at our hospital. The patient was scared and not prepared to have her baby so far away from home, but Ann was by her side, comforting her throughout her stay.
"She made me feel so safe, so reassured that everything was going to be OK," the patient wrote in her nomination letter. "Ann made my room such a positive environment to the point where I was in tears asking her to stay with me when her shift was almost over."
"She held my hand during my epidural and always told me I was doing a great job. Not 20 minutes would go by before she was back in my room, fluffing my pillows, rubbing my back during my contractions, and making me laugh. Ann is the sweetest person and it is so easy to tell she genuinely cares about her patients and loves her job. If I could bring her home with me, I would! God sent me here for a reason as I could not possibly have been in better hands," she said.
