I recently delivered my first child at Saint Luke's Hospital and while I was there, had the pleasure to be cared for by Amy in the post-partum unit. Amy is attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. While under her care, Amy drew not only on her knowledge of nursing, but also of motherhood. She joyfully answered our silly parenting questions like how to swaddle a baby, tips on burping a baby and even how to properly change a diaper. Upon departing from the hospital is where Amy went above and beyond her duties as a skilled nurse. As we ventured into the world of new parenthood, Amy detected my need for emotional support. Her tender, consoling words of encouragement instilled in me a confidence that I still draw from today.
