Facing the challenges of nursing today is no easy feat. That's the thing about nursing, it takes a very special person to meet the emotional and physical demands of this profession with steadfast compassion, kindness, and good humor. Yet, it's just what we do. Some of us though, go just a step further, which is why I'm writing this letter to you.
George Kato exceeds these expectations every single day. He is one of the most thorough, safest, and genuinely caring nurses I have ever had the honor and pleasure to work with. His care and close attention to detail has even resulted in the avoidance of a potentially life-threatening event just recently. I mean it when I say that I would trust him wholeheartedly with my own loved ones. It is a wonder to watch him with his patients. He is also an amazing co-worker who always comes to work with a smile and jumps at the opportunity to help anyone who needs it. Already a wealth of knowledge, ready to share it with anyone, he is ever-committed to the pursuit of education advancement. Just a month ago, he earned his Master's degree in Nursing Education and is about to begin his second Master's to become a nurse practitioner. He really is a true role model for all of us. He is certainly of the caliber that I aspire to be. Simply put, the impact that George has made on this floor and on his co-workers is immeasurable. I know that these words cannot adequately attest to how extraordinary a nurse and a beautiful person he is. It is my hope however, that you can feel it.
