Nate Jones, R.N. II, Progressive Care Unit, was recently recognized with the DAISY Award for second quarter 2011. Since becoming a member of the Saint Luke’s East-Lee’s Summit team in July 2007, Jones has served as an integral member of the Progressive Care Unit team. He has an infectious, positive attitude and a bright smile that he brings to work each day. He fosters teamwork on the unit, making sure to involve all members of the team. His team members recognize him for being a great patient advocate, always ensuring the patients’ needs are met, both during their stays and after they are discharged.

Nate has been nominated by a several patients and their families. One patient stated “He is very sincere and caring. He also has a good sense of humor. He came into my room as I was looking out the window. He sat down on the couch beside me and asked to hear my story. Nate seems to genuinely care about me and my well-being. He explained everything to me. He constantly has a smile on his face and is eager to know what he can do for me. I must say he has got to be one of the best nurses I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.” Another patient stated, “Nate, you really did treat me like a brother during my recent visit. My wife and I appreciated you going out of your way to make us comfortable.”
