Aubrey Henrichs is an amazing nurse. While receiving bedside report Aubrey noticed her patient was not doing well. This patient was a 46-year-old male with Down Syndrome of whom the IMCU had grown truly fond. He didn't have family and his caretaker was notified but the patient was declining quickly. All the necessary calls were made so now it became a waiting game for when this loved patient would take his last breath and final heartbeat. Aubrey, along with the other IMCU team members, stayed at his side holding his hand. They didn't want him to be alone. Aubrey then took it to another level and sang "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" to this sweet patient until he took his last breath. Because of her kindness, compassion, and selflessness, this patient was not alone as he transitioned from Earth. They say hearing may be the last sense that is lost, and if so he had a wonderful last few minutes on Earth.
