“When I listen to her speaking with a patient, I think to myself, I would let her take care of my Mom or Dad because that is exactly how she takes care of the patient, just as if it were her family”.
When preparing an outpatient for surgery, Lou discovered that the patient was diabetic. Through a paperwork error, the patient had been instructed not to take her medications for several days before the surgery. Lou spoke with the physician who was not aware that this had occurred. Lou called the nurse at the office to discuss the oversight and ensure that this would not happen to another patient. She did not stop until she was assured that this would not happen again. “She is a team player all the way. Lou is truly an asset.”
