We recently just had a four day stay with my two year old in the pediatric unit. I cannot even express the fear and worry as she was admitted. The pain she was in and just being exhausted. The fear of the unknown and the lack of trust as we had seen multiple doctors and still no answer. I immediately knew my daughter was in good hands. The whole floor was amazing don't get me wrong but Kelly was just INCREDIBLE!!!
She was so gentle and understanding. She even understood the pain she was in, even from just being touched. She went above and beyond not only for our daughter but for our whole family. Something as simple as getting her a baby doll to take a bath with as it was so difficult to get her in the tub from her pain. Helping me bathe her and encouraging her the whole time.
After not eating for days, Kelly said tell me what she wants, and I will find it. Our daughter requested bacon and chocolate milk and without hesitation, Kelly got right on the phone to get it for her. And when it didn't come, she called back two more times until she got it.
She asked us constantly if there was anything she could get us as parents. Changing our bedding and pillowcases. Today we were discharged and were lucky to have her to discharge us. She had on an Olaf scrub top and I mentioned that it was cute. She said she wore it today because she knew my daughter loved Frozen, as she watched it repeatedly as we were there. It's those little things.
Keeping my daughter comfortable at such a difficult time. She never got frustrated, checked in constantly, and went far and beyond. She has restored my faith in healthcare. I am forever grateful for her and all her efforts.
