Jamie Legvold is a nurse that works in the Long Term Care skilled unit. She goes out of her way to make the experience as pleasant as possible. She also does things for residents of long term care and their families. There was a gentleman who was quite restless; she brought in wood pieces for him to sand to make him feel worthwhile while being here. She made a cake and bought all the decorations for a LTC resident’s birthday and invited staff to join in the festivities. She also made a special dessert for a resident’s birthday and invited the resident’s family and friends, as well as staff, again at her own expense and time. She is one of those people who looks at her patients as an individual with individual needs and interests which she tries to fulfill.
