Karen was my nurse during labor and delivery. This was the first baby for my husband and me, and Karen was able to explain the process of being induced and answer all our questions with compassion and thoroughness. She was very personable and made me feel safe and comfortable during a stressful time for a first time mom to be. I could tell that my comfort clearly mattered to Karen and as her patient, we developed a trusting relationship in that short amount of time. My labor progressed quickly and Karen was still my nurse so she was part of my son's birth. Her continued positive attitude, encouraging words and calm demeanor have left a lasting effect on me and my husband. Our experience at Kettering stands out because of Karen. Karen truly takes the time to get to know her patients, their families and has a great rapport with the hospital staff. I'm sure if she impacted our little family in this way, she has touched the lives of so many others as well.
