For several years, Connie Katafias has been working with Sacred Suds in the Hackley Campus neighborhood. Every other Thursday, Connie and another person provide meals, water, laundry soap, and personal care items to the Sacred Suds.
Sacred Suds is a small establishment that allows the underserved people in the neighborhood an opportunity to wash their clothes and shower for just a few cents. They previously provided lunch four days a week but now they only serve lunch on Thursdays because Connie is the only person who consistently delivers food. They feed between 30-60 people each time they do a lunch. Connie and the other person bring entrees, sides, fruit, water, coffee, hats, and gloves to the underserved in our neighborhood, which includes some of our patients and families.
