I am writing to recognize an amazing nurse whom I've had the pleasure of working with and learning from over the last year. "Morgan" sticks out to me as a DAISY Nurse for so many reasons. She comes to work each shift with positivity, snacks, a smile, and a hug if you need one!
Morgan has a lot of experience and is always willing to share her knowledge! One day in particular that stands out to me was when she came on shift and landed an ambulance. She could see right away that the patient's condition was declining quickly. Morgan jumped right into action and ultimately saved this young woman's life. In the midst of starting IVs, giving fluids and blood, administering medications, titrating drips, charting, coordination with doctors and the OR team, monitoring vitals, and teaching a new nurse while she went, she still managed to keep the patient and family calm and comfortable.
Shortly after Morgan got the patient up to OR she landed another ambulance that had CPR in progress. Again, Morgan jumped into action. Unfortunately, this patient passed away, but Morgan was able to talk through these difficult cases with the new nurse who was following her and use them as great learning experiences.
Morgan, your hard work, positive attitude, compassion toward your patients and co-worker, and love for nursing doesn't go unnoticed. Thank you for being you!
