We had a total care 46-year-old cerebral palsy patient accompanied by her 84-year-old mother arrive for an outpatient procedure. Due to electrolyte imbalance, she was admitted to POD 3. She was contracted and although non-verbal, was very loud. Her mother stayed with her daughter and became our patient too. Teki provided some of the most compassionate patient care I have seen in a long time. Teki was understanding of the mother's never-ending list of tasks for both her daughter and her. She provided head to toe care (literally). Teki did not leave the room for over 4 hours! Plus, the patient was on isolation precaution which meant hours in a hot gown. I was moved and impressed by Teki's care of this very difficult patient. She demonstrated all our core values and is a true DAISY Nurse.
