We had a patient on our floor who has had a particularly trying last couple of weeks. He lost his wife and home. He did not have anything with him other than the dirty clothes he came in wearing. Taylor took it upon herself to go to Walmart following her shift and bought the patient undergarments, shoes, several shirts and a pair of shorts. Her act of kindness will no doubt have an impact on this patient for the rest of his life. He was very tearful, but grateful nonetheless when I brought the items into his room. Nursing is truly a work of the heart and Taylor shows that every day.
