I am a coworker of Melissa's and I feel she is very deserving of this award because of the exceptional work she does every day and her kind heart and spirit. Melissa is very warm and welcoming to all the patients she cares for and if I were ever a patient here, I would want her to be my nurse. She is also very helpful to the front office staff where she will scan a patient's chart herself instead of bringing to the PAS to do especially if the PAS is by themselves and busy. She always calls to the front or comes up to let the PAS know that the patient is being discharged and find out if we need to see them for payment or any other information. Also, to let the PAS know if the patient is changing from observation to inpatient or vice versa. She also helps on the ED side if she is not caring for a patient on the inpatient side. She is an awesome nurse!
