Simi being a senior Surgical & Urology Clinic nurse plays a key role in driving the clinical practice, improving quality outcomes for patients and supporting her co-staff to assist in creating and implementing innovation. Simi is very well educated on her roles and responsibilities, and performs accordingly to provide excellent patient care to all the patients. Having her in the clinic is really admirable with her humility, honesty and being respectful to the patient, families, all other healthcare professional and colleagues. Simi is someone who is focused, driven and dedicated as the unit shines brightly because of her immeasurable contributions. She has spearheaded countless initiatives that benefit patients and have brought recognition to her staff unit.

Simi's responsibilities include charge nurse, preceptor, and retention link representative, social activity coordinator for the unit, Unit Base Council member and quality improvement initiatives. She is an invaluable resource for clinical issues, such as Urology, Plastic Surgery, Endocrine surgery, Laparoscopic, Abdominal Upper G.I Surgery, General Obesity, Vascular surgery, Thoracic surgery, Andrology & Infertility, Surgical Oncology & Surgical Wound Care nurse clinic and serves as liaison for unit and hospital wide policies and procedures. Simi is also our mediator to handle any conflict arises within our unit.

Simi is a proactive and a critical thinking nurse who always goes beyond the needs of the patients and her colleagues as she has high levels of accuracy and work productivity. She also always takes pride in work and strives to improve work performances which are completed on time with no errors. One of her beauty is she will never say No to anyone at any time for any help with a smiling face. This makes everyone in the unit very comfortable as she inspires all the nurses with her words of wisdom.

Many patients come to the clinic without an appointment or missed their appointment to the clinic. Simi is always there for the patients with a smiling face enquiring their needs and without further delay she will access the patients and make the necessary arrangements for the patients to be seen by the physicians. Simi has never ever let down any patients who are coming to the clinic. She is very concern and alert about each every patients that come to clinic. There was a patient came to Nurse Wound Clinic for dressing. The patient had the surgery done outside Riyadh, and by the time patient came for dressing in the clinic, the wound was terribly infected as the patient was in severe pain. The patient was referred from ER and does not have a primary physician. Simi immediately get the Wound Care Coordinator to access the patient's wound. With the coordinator's advice and recommendation, as well realizing the urgency. Simi make the necessary arrangements for the patient to be seen by a physician without further delay. For her efficiency, excellent and holistic nursing care, the patient was protected from harm or unwanted emergency situation.

As a nurse, Simi inquisitive and strive to reach even greater goals, so she will always accept opportunities for advancement, and nurse like Simi who excel in the nursing profession and emulate her for all her excellent job in our unit. She has a good attendance record which in another word it can be said that she is always at work and on time and can always be counted on to work overtime when necessary without complaint. She also never misses work without prior approval and appropriate notification and most importantly she had no unscheduled absences during the rating period.

Simi always encourages nurses not to accept the status quo, but to be innovative, flexible and willing to adapt, and apply evidence-based practice into nursing care. She demonstrate " team player " behavior views individual success as imperative to group success being very direct, straightforward, honest and polite. Simi also always cordial and willing to help coworkers, students, and clients with enthusiastic, energetic and displays positive behavior.

Simi displays diverse leadership abilities and promotes interdisciplinary, collegial working relationships throughout the unit. For her Excellency she was awarded as Best Employee of the Month in October 2013 in Surgical Clinic. She will effectively adjust herself to changes in routines, processes, deadlines and overall productivity in her daily task.

Simi deserves the DAISY Award for her strong leadership talent, enthusiastic and dedicated as she is admired for her ability to inspire other and make significant contributions to the nursing profession.
