Connie is one of the nicest, most sincere, and caring people I know. She is the kind of person who would give you the shirt off her back. I have seen her leave a family camping trip to help in the Emergency Department during bad trauma cases, arriving with what she had on to get here fast, and add scrubs over to look professional. I have seen her hug and cry with her staff in times of trouble. She always makes time to listen to your concerns as a team member and for her patients. She will search for the unanswered questions if she didn't already know. She puts in endless hours to make sure patient care is covered and help staff during those times of need. She truly cares about this hospital and the team members, like it was her home and filled with her family. I really enjoy working side by side with Connie and feel I learn something every time I do, even if it is just to stay positive and treat patients like family. Thank you, Connie, for being you and sharing all the best parts of you with me.

I have known and worked with Mrs. Jordan for about 29 years now. She has always provided excellent medical care in all aspects to her patients and families. But on top of this, she has always been a strong nurse leader for all staff within nursing. She has taught and guided them to take care of all patients with their all. Along with all of this Connie has helped this hospital move forward all the time, making sure and pushing to make it the best it can be with quality care for our patients. This has all been resurfaced during our facility preparation for Joint Commission. Our Emergency Department was between managers and Connie came to the department to help prep and prepare us as if it was her department. She is always giving 100% compassion to all team members, facility and the community.

Recently, I was involved in supporting a young mother and father while their baby was being "coded" and eventually declared deceased in our Emergency Department. As is often the case, the trauma room was disorderly (controlled chaos) and when it was time for me to bring the parents to the room to see their young child, I was not sure what to expect. At best, I hoped that the room had been cleaned and put back into some order. What I found when I pulled back the curtains brought tears to my eyes. The room was in perfect condition; the bed was remade; and Connie Jordan was standing in the corner by two chairs (for parents) holding, rocking and patting this beautifully swaddled child. She had a gentle and inviting smile on her face. She lovingly handed the child over to the mother.
The compassion, gentleness, and love she showed in this very emotional moment will stay with this grieving family (and me) for a very long time.
